If you don't have a compass at home to draw circles, you can always use a lid or container. You may want a ruler or something with a straight edge to work like a ruler. Remember to use your pencil first for your desing ideas.

Grade 501 Remote Learning Arts Education

All of the lessons posted here would have been what we would have worked on in classes this week.

Dance: Continue to research and view So You Think You Dance clips of your chosen dance style.  Feel free to have a digital conversation with your partner if you can agree on a dance you both would like to talk about.

Romero Britto Portrait Art:

Remember Ms. Stephens!! Here she is taking you step by step with a Britto style portrait.  Do a rough copy of your own and bring it to class next week.  These will be created into Painted Portraits.

Grade 2 Arts Education Remote Learning Plan

 Hello Grade 2!!!

We have been on this Pirate adventure together and this is just another adventure to add to things.  Here are some ideas to try out at home.

1. What is your pirate name?  Try out what the rest of your family member's would be.
2. Visual Art: Try creating a Pirate Family Portrait.  Here is a youtube lesson on how to create an overlapping portrait.
Put all your family members in pirate clothing.
3. Make a blanket fort/Pirate ship to act out an attack on the ship with your family. Try to use pirate talk like "arrh" and "walk the plank".
4.  Listen to the awesome story, "Grandma and the Pirates" by Phoebe Gilman

If you create an artwork please bring it school on Tuesday, March 23 when hopefully we are back face to face.
Any pics or questions can be emailed to my school email.

Grade 1 James Rizzi Cityscapes

James Rizzi was an American Pop Artist who created fun cityscapes.  Grade one's have been studying buildings and architecture.

Please follow this youtube tutorial by my art teacher friend Ms. Cassie Stephens.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=trGRG7IG88k

You will need paper, pencil, eraser, markers or crayons for colouring.  You can draw with your pencil first then outline with a black marker after.

When you have done this please bring it back to school on Tuesday, March 25 when we hopefully return for face to face instruction.

Kindergarten Arts Education Remote Learning

Hello Kindergarten Families!!!

Well navigating through remote learning with Arts Education is actually an easy task so no fear.

Students have been exploring the Robert Munsch book "The Paperbag Princess".  Such a classic and one of my favorites.

Take this time at home as an opportunity to bond with childhood dramatic play.

Read the book or find it on YouTube as a read aloud.

Try out some of these activities out:

Build a castle/blanket fort and defend the castle from an attack, build a dragon trap with recycled materials, create a new outfit for Princess Elizabeth out of paper, or create an outfit out of flyers, newspaper, and other found items around the house.  Have fun pretending and playing together.

Snap a picture and email it to me: lisa.tytlandsvik@gssd.ca

New remote learning for Davison Students

Well here we are again in remote learning.  I will be posting a few fun activities and projects for various grades on here to help us through the next week. Most of these activities will prepare students for things we will be doing once we return to classes as usual in the school face to face.
