April 27 - May 1 Art Schedule
This week will be a check in session for those working on projects assigned last week. I will be reading a bit from the book, "Not a Stick" by Antionette Portis, to the K and Grade 1s. Grade 2's will be a check in on their Found Object sculptures. Grade 3/4 will be shown how to make a pop up landscape, which is a carry on from last week's cityscape. Finally Grades 5 and 6 will be a check in on the Found Object/Laundry Art Choices.
Here are a few projects already done from last week:

Not a Box: Kindergarten and Grade 1 Lesson for the week of April 27th.
Fantastic Zoom meeting to those that were able to join us today.
The inspiration for this week's art project was "Not a Box" by Antionette Portis
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMCKXaFsmCA&t=5s
Step 1: Think about what you could turn a box into. Draw a rectangle or square to start your design idea.
Step 2: Collect some boxes and other found objects and see what you can create. Some ideas shared were castles, houses, and robots. We will share what we are making next zoom meeting.
Here are some ideas too:

zoom meeting Gr.2 and Miller 2/3
Today's lesson was about overlapping shapes. Overlapping is a good skill to learn in order to make your drawings look more 3d as you get older. I look forward to seeing some of your completed work.

First Meeting
Awesome day for my first zoom class with Kindergarten, and Grade 1's. We had 24 students join us and I really enjoyed seeing the faces and hearing the exciting when we started our meeting. I am having trouble uploading our video so I hope to work out the problems to get it up soon. In place I am posting the picture used for our demonstration.
